Phyllostachys bissetii

This is a vigorous bamboo that establishes rapidly. Being exceptionally cold hardy it is among the best Phyllostachys for retaining an un-battered look at the end of a bad winter. Its dark green color is a great backdrop for other garden plants and flowers. This is one of my favorites for a cold hardy screening bamboo.
