Phyllostachys viridis ‘Robert Young’

The culms of this bamboo have accent striping outside the sulcus, (groove) which is dark green on a light green culm. Older culms turn to a golden-yellow color but the stripes remain green. In cooler climates this desirable ornamental spreads slow and has more of a clumping habit.
